Monocular 3D Video Extensometer
Automotive horns endure high-speed vibration during operation, and prolonged use may degrade their performance or cause failure. High-speed vibration testing of horns is therefore an important means of ensuring durability and reliability. Conventional test methods often capture vibration data only at specific points and cannot fully analyze the strain distribution over the horn surface.
Adopting monocular 3D DIC technology combined with high-speed imaging, the Haytham monocular 3D high-speed visual strain gauge measures full-field strain and displacement on the horn surface in real time under high-speed vibration. With high resolution and high frame rate, the instrument captures subtle deformation of the horn during high-speed vibration and generates high-precision strain distribution maps and displacement curves.
In the high-speed vibration test, the horn was fixed on a vibration table to simulate the vibration environment of actual use. The Haytham monocular 3D high-speed visual strain gauge monitored the vibration of the horn surface in real time through its camera, recording strain and displacement data of the horn at different vibration frequencies and amplitudes.

The acquired data are used to generate full-field strain distribution maps and displacement curves of the horn surface, helping engineers identify stress concentration regions and potential fatigue points of the horn under different vibration conditions. Analysis of this information evaluates horn durability and guides design optimization. In addition, the test can validate the horn's vibration model to further improve its performance and reliability.

The application of the Haytham monocular 3D high-speed visual strain gauge in high-speed vibration testing of automotive horns provides a powerful tool for analyzing horn vibration characteristics. Its high-precision, real-time full-field strain and displacement measurement capability enables engineers to fully grasp the horn's performance under high-speed vibration, effectively evaluate its durability, and optimize the design. Moreover, thanks to the monocular 3D DIC-based design, the test requires only one set of high-speed cameras, helping optimize overall cost.
