Automated Structural Monitoring Project of Qingdao Metro Line 15 | Haytham Online Vision Tracker Case Study

Automated structural safety monitoring

Project Background

Metro engineering projects have long construction periods and complex construction environments. During excavation, support, casting and changes in the surrounding environment, the main structure may be affected by multiple factors such as geological conditions, construction disturbance, groundwater, adjacent roads and existing buildings. For a key urban rail transit project like Qingdao Metro Line 15, timely knowledge of the displacement and deformation of the main structure is an important link in ensuring construction safety and engineering quality.

Traditional manual monitoring methods have certain limitations in frequency, efficiency and continuity, and can hardly meet the on-site demand for automated, real-time and visualized monitoring. Therefore, the project introduced the Haytham online visual tracker to automatically monitor key parts of the main structure.

Solution

Haytham online visual trackerAdopting non-contact visual measurement technology, the monitoring equipment is deployed at stable positions, and passive targets are arranged at key measurement points of the main structure. By continuously collecting target images and combining digital image correlation (DIC) algorithms with subpixel positioning technology, the system calculates the horizontal displacement, vertical displacement and deformation changes of the measurement points in real time.

Monitoring data can be uploaded to the cloud platform, forming displacement trend curves, historical records and abnormal change information. Managers can remotely view structural changes through the platform and keep track of the status of monitoring points in time, providing a data basis for on-site construction management and risk judgment.

Application Value

In the Qingdao Metro Line 15 main structure automated monitoring project, Haytham online visual trackerachieved continuous monitoring of key structural parts, reducing the workload of repeated manual site-entry measurement and lowering operational risks in complex construction environments.

Featuring non-contact operation, multiple measurement points, automation and visualization, the system can track the deformation trend of the main structure over the long term. When abnormal changes occur in structural displacement, the monitoring data can serve as a reference for on-site judgment, construction adjustment and safety management.

Compared with traditional single-point monitoring methods, the online visual tracker can not only obtain displacement data but also synchronously retain on-site image information, making monitoring results more intuitive and traceable. For scenarios such as metro stations, running tunnels, foundation pits and surrounding structures, visual monitoring technology can improve data acquisition efficiency and enhance engineering safety management capability.

Applicable Scenarios

Haytham online visual trackerIt can be widely applied to engineering safety monitoring scenarios such as metro main structure monitoring, station structure monitoring, tunnel deformation monitoring, foundation pit support monitoring, bridge displacement monitoring, slope displacement monitoring and dam structure monitoring, providing automated monitoring solutions for rail transit and infrastructure construction.
