Monocular 3D Video Extensometer
Panel projectile testing is a common method for simulating the behavior of panel materials under high-speed impact. In this highly dynamic, high-strain-rate environment, conventional strain measurement methods often struggle to provide accurate full-field strain data, so test equipment with high-precision, high-speed, full-field measurement capability is required.
1. Testing Requirements
In this panel projectile test, the customer needed to precisely measure the transient deformation and strain distribution of the panel under projectile impact. Since the strain rate generated at the instant of impact is extremely high, the measurement equipment had to not only capture the high-speed dynamic process in real time but also provide full-field strain data for a comprehensive analysis of the panel's deformation behavior.
2. Solution
The Haytham monocular 3D DIC high-speed visual strain gauge adopts advanced monocular 3D DIC technology combined with a high-speed camera, capturing deformation information on the panel surface within an extremely short time and computing the 3D strain distribution in real time through DIC algorithms, thus meeting the demands of highly dynamic testing. In this panel projectile test, the Haytham monocular 3D DIC high-speed visual strain gauge demonstrated the following advantages:
1. Non-contact measurement: In high-speed projectile impact tests, conventional strain gauges struggle to withstand high impact forces while maintaining measurement accuracy. The Haytham monocular 3D DIC high-speed visual strain gauge adopts non-contact measurement, avoiding this problem and ensuring the reliability of test data.

2. Full-field strain measurement: Unlike conventional point measurement methods, monocular 3D DIC technology performs full-field strain measurement over the entire panel surface. Whether in the high-strain region near the impact point or in regions far from it, the device accurately records and computes the strain distribution, helping to fully understand the loading state of the panel.
3. High-speed capture and real-time computation: The device captures the dynamic process of projectile impact at an extremely high frame rate and computes the 3D strain distribution on the panel surface in real time. This process captures every minute deformation detail, providing rich data support for subsequent analysis.

4. Adaptability to complex dynamic environments: The device maintains high-precision measurement in complex dynamic environments, delivering stable strain data even at extremely high strain rates.
Through this test, the Haytham monocular 3D DIC high-speed visual strain gauge successfully captured and recorded the full-field strain data of the panel under projectile impact. The high-precision, high-speed measurement capability of the device provided the customer with detailed data support for a comprehensive analysis of the panel's dynamic deformation behavior, helping to evaluate the impact resistance of the material.
