Displacement Measurement and Reliability Verification of Large-Structure Shaking Table Test

DIC, vibration testing, full-field strain

In structural dynamics research on bridges, dams, high-rise buildings, and other structures, vibration testing is an important means of evaluating structural safety and performance. Traditional contact sensors such as accelerometers, displacement transducers, and strain gauges are complex to deploy and provide limited measuring points, and they tend to introduce additional mass effects and installation errors on large models or non-rigid structures. Facing the needs of large structural scale, wide deformation range, and numerous measuring points, traditional methods can no longer meet the dual requirements of scientific research and engineering in terms of spatial resolution and timeliness.

In the structural dynamics experiment, the research team adopted Haytham monocular 3D high-speed DIC to perform full-field vibration measurement on a scaled model of a large structure. During the test, high-speed cameras were arranged outside the model, capturing the 3D motion information of the structure surface synchronously from multiple viewpoints without physical contact. Through high-speed image acquisition and timing synchronization control, the DIC system accurately recorded the out-of-plane displacement distribution and mode shape changes during vibration. After analysis, the data clearly revealed the primary mode shapes, nodal responses, and modal frequency variations under different loading conditions, providing a reliable basis for structural dynamics parameter identification and model updating.
