In mechanical compression testing of concrete specimens, the loading process is usually accompanied by microcrack initiation, propagation, and coalescence, and the crack evolution path directly determines the load-bearing capacity and failure mode of the material. Traditional contact measurement methods such as displacement transducers and strain gauges can only provide local or overall deformation information, and can hardly reflect the entire process of cracks from initiation to propagation continuously and intuitively. To meet this testing need, Haytham Technology, based on DIC (digital image correlation) technology, provides a non-contact solution for measuring crack propagation in concrete specimens under compression.

Haytham DICThrough continuous image acquisition of the specimen surface and correlation analysis, full-field displacement and strain distributions during compression loading are obtained without contacting the specimen. From the evolution of the strain field, the surface response characteristics of internal damage in the concrete can be clearly identified, and the crack initiation location, propagation direction, and strain concentration zones can be accurately captured, providing an intuitive basis for analyzing the compression failure mechanism.
