Acquiring accurate data is critical in high-temperature material testing. At 1600°C in particular, conventional equipment faces numerous challenges. In this test, our 2D extensometer provided the customer with a reliable solution.

The challenge: testing difficulties in a small-window high-temperature furnace

The high-temperature furnace used in this test has a window of only 15*55 mm with furnace walls up to 28 cm thick, making it difficult for conventional monocular 3D equipment to fully capture the gauge section of the specimen. This limited field of view places high demands on measurement accuracy.

The solution: how the 2D extensometer rises to the challenge

To overcome the restricted field of view of the small-window furnace, we recommended a 2D extensometer. By adjusting the viewing angle and optimizing the optical path, the 2D extensometer covers the key areas of the specimen within the limited view. Combined with high-temperature-resistant marking point technology, it ensures stable and accurate data acquisition in high-temperature environments.

Results: accurate data at high temperature

At 1600°C, the 2D extensometer successfully overcame the field-of-view limitation and captured the strain data of the specimen. These results provided valuable data support for the customer's project and demonstrated the practicality of the 2D extensometer in high-temperature testing.
