Materials Mechanics
Monocular 3D Video Extensometer
In mechanical material testing, elongation after fracture, total fracture elongation, and reduction of area are core indicators of ductility and toughness. Yet conventional measurement methods often leave technicians stuck with low efficiency and high error.
1. Difficulties of conventional measurement methods
Total fracture elongation: conventional methods rely on the testing machine's crosshead data and cannot effectively remove elastic-stage deformation, so accuracy is insufficient and data are easily distorted.
Elongation after fracture and reduction of area: manual measurement with vernier calipers requires piecing the fractured specimen back together — time-consuming, laborious, and prone to human error.
2. Haytham's visual measurement solution
Pre-fracture correction mode:The moment of fracture is precisely identified via force decay and elongation jumps, elastic deformation is automatically corrected, and key indicators are measured accurately — fully replacing manual measurement and making data more true and reliable.
Application examples:
Three unitsvideo extensometer: one placed at every 120° interval, measuring from different angles.

Two video extensometers: measure from two different angles to obtain two values, which are then combined for calculation.

Image recognition mode:Captures image features in real time and automatically detects the fracture signal.
Online measurement mode:Calculates total fracture elongation automatically in real time without reading deformation data from the testing machine, suitable for test scenarios focused on material elongation performance.
